COLO LOCO est un livre à colorier pour adultes inspiré par tout ce que j’aime ainsi que mes souvenirs d’enfance.
Les  thèmes de COLO LOCO sont très différents des autres livres à colorier. Ils sont plus « geek » et on s’attaque aussi à la culture pop!

COLO LOCO is an adult coloring book inspired by everything I like and also by cherished memories from childhood.
In COLO LOCO the themes are quite different than any other mandalas or coloring books. We deal with geek subjects and the pop culture!

It all started as an exposition in my home town. It was a big event truly, which now is repeating in other cities. I had a couple of pretty art pieces to show, but I wanted to make something people could remember.

What has not been seen in the region so far was a collective art. So I decided to make a coloring art piece that I would give to one person among all the people that colored it while the duration of the exposition.

The success was phenomenal! Adults and kids enjoyed coloring the crowd of robots I did in a shape of an apple ( the theme being New-York). I did kept a small control over the colors, giving restricted markers colors. The result was exactly as I expected it, making it a pretty contemporary art piece.

 

Seeing people liking this so much, I started to ask their thoughts of making a coloring book of these, and it was all very positive comments.
So its how the main idea was born!
The apple on the cover is now the icon of Colo Loco!

-The art style: I do what I call crowded illustrations. All pages are made with crowds of people and characters. I do them with different sizes of pens, and detail them with hatches and lines.

-The cool themes: zombies, pirates, fairies, mermaids, fantasy, steampunk, Wizard of Oz, music bands, Greek Mythology and video games!

-Looks nice on the walls: also each illustrations has a shape related to the theme. For example: pirates crowd shaped like a skull!

-The texts related to the themes: each illustrations has its text accompanying it so it makes it more fun for immersion into that theme.
The texts will be bilingual English / French.

I even suggest to some music to go along with the coloring!

 -The paper & book quality: all the book is made of high quality thick paper, good for any pens and to allow markers to be used. Also, each illustration pages has its back totally blank,so it doesn’t bleed on other pages! Great! And they all are removables.
